LaGG 3 Series 1-4 - ICM
The LaGG 3 was one of the earlier kits when ICM started to issue 1/48 airplane kits. It was quite well received when it was first released in 2008, mainly due to the lack of acceptable alternatives.

Fieseler Fi 156 Storch - Tamiya
Reconnaissance and liaison planes are usually not part of my preferred prey pattern. Although I like to go off the mainstream once in a while, I usually fancy fighters and bombers.
This changed when I opened Tamiya´s hundred´s kit milestone, which quite surprisingly turned out to be this Fieseler Storch in 2008.
And what a kit this is!

Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-7 Trop - Hasegawa
Bf 109´s are one of my favourite subjects - they saw action from the Spanish Civil War throughout the end of WW II in all war theaters with German involvement.
This is the Tamiya box that you can also find in my first kit recommendation post.
This "Schwarze 8" in its RLM 78/79/80 scheme is very well known and was flown by Franz Elles.

The scheme is a non-standard three tone splinter camouflage RLM 65/71/02, with the addition of RLM 63.

Messerschmitt Bf 109 F-2 - Eduard
Bf 109´s are one of my favourite subjects - they saw action from the Spanish Civil War throughout the end of WW II in all war theaters with German involvement.
This one is from Eduard. I purchased a cheap and basic "Overtrees" edition, which covers the plastic parts only without manual or decals.

Curtiss P-40B Warhawk - Trumpeter
No WW II aircraft collection is complete without an example of a P-40 from the "Flying Tigers" of the American Volunteers Group with their impressive shark mouth painting. There are some original colour photos available on the internet that show the DuPont equivalents of the RAF camouflage colours, for which they were initially intended.

Nakajima B5N2 "Kate" - Hasegawa
I can't shake the feeling that Hasegawa puts more love into their IJN kits, and this Kate is no exception. The box is from 2001 and far superior in every respect to the much older Fujimi kit, which incomprehensibly is the only available alternative of this iconic aircraft to this date.

Macchi C.205 Veltro - Italeri
The box states Italeri, but the sprues are Hasegawa. Hence, inside the box you will find a typical Hasegawa kit the 90ies: An easy and enjoyable build with no major issues, upgraded by a beautiful "Super Decal "sheet" that will provide you with an accurate set of smoke rings as a very welcome addition.

Focke Wulf Fw 190 A-8/R2 - Eduard
This is an early release of the Fw 190 from Eduard, which has been re-tooled in 2017 in order to reduce complexity. Although the initial release has been considered already over-engineered, I added aftermarket parts for the engine and flaps. The base kit was a "Profi Pack" edition.

P-51D Mustang - Eduard
This is one of the Eduard releases of the P-51. The initial moulds date from 2019 and have been released in multiple versions since. The kit represents current standards, with accurate but very tight part fit.

P-51B Mustang - Tamiya
This Tamiya release has been the P-51 benchmark for many years until Eduard released their P-51 family. The build is simple and straight-forward, while the kit is widely available at reasonable prices.

Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero - Tamiya
This is the first issued Tamiya Kit from 1973. It has been re-engineered with new tools since its initial release, and altough it cannot be compared to current standards, it still builds into a beatiful kit right out of the box.

SB2U Vindicator - Accurate Miniatures
The kit is the well-known Accurate Miniatures kit, built OOB with the only addition being PE seat belts and a Yellow Wings decal set.

Hawker Typhoon Mk I - Monogram
The Monogram Typhoon is a dated kit from 1968 featuring basic details and recessed panel line, but was high end at the time it was initially released. The shape is accurate. My initial idea was to use this kit as a test object for rescribing, but I ended up packing it with aftermarket parts.

Hawker Hurricane Mk I - Airfix
This is the recent re-engineered Airfix kit. The only modifications were the addition of a Vacform canopy and Eduard PE seatbelts - and of course the Belgian set of decals, just to go off the mainstream.

Brewster F2A-2 Buffalo - Tamiya
This is the well-known Tamiya Kit from 1974. I like Yellow Wing schemes, so I built the scheme from the box. However, the decals had aged and were unusuable, but all what was needed was found in the dacal spare box.

Dewoitine D.520 - Tamiya
This Dewoitine D.520 is the classic Tamiya kit from 1994. It was built OOB, except for the addition of seat belts and aftermarket decals
